‘Without Apparatus’ is a project around themes of sheriff courts, law, and power relationships in these structures. It is realised in sheriff courts in different locations across Scotland and it originated from my own enforced journey through the Scottish legal system led to me to think about boundaries, limits, and the law; and how individuals are treated depending on their status, gender, nationality and other descriptors determine their experiences of legal system. The project consists of photographs, objects made of wood and clay and publication by Relief Press. The project has been developed in collaboration with prof. Johnny Rodger.
'Without Apparatus' is supported by The Glasgow School Of Art, The Richard and Siobhan Coward Foundation and The Hope Scott Trust.
Special thanks to Danny Prayle for design and fabrication of the tray table for 'Impossible Games' piece.
